Denise Pitot's TOP Networking Tips: #13 Whether you are a seasoned networker, or learning the ropes, here are some of my top tips to help you to get the most out of your networking events. Tip #13. What to do with all these business cards? Although some cultures frown upon it, I like to write the date that I received the card on the back of the card and even the function where we met. If there is pertinent information I would like to remember about the person, I will write that down too. Of course this needs to be done somewhere private as I mentioned, it could be viewed as disrespectful. Armed with this information, it is so much easier to remember vital details about that first meeting. There are useful APPs available like CamCard which make capturing business card information to your smart phone so much easier. My top tip is to capture the information while it is fresh in your mind, and send a thank you note to the person ASAP. If there is some follow up you agreed to at the network meeting, this would be a good time to mention it, respond or connect as promised. (Remember your credibility)
